SeedFund - Form Material Function (FoMaFu)

Interdisciplinary laboratory study focused on form, material and function for the applied and market-specific orientation of textile concrete

Mission Statement

For the deployement of a market-specific positioning of textile concrete, the groundwork concerning aesthetics is still missing. Not scientifically proven, these aesthetics are established by an interaction between form, function and material. In order to be able to make claims about these relations, the comparison and demonstration of capabilities and deficits of the different features regarding form, function and material are a crucial basis. These groundworks are extremely important when it comes to the successful application for research projects. Also, it is important for the optimization and the goal-oriented marketing of the material textile concrete. Textile concrete is a novel material that is on the cusp of market penetration.

Research approach

The approach to the solution is developed in an interdisciplinary laboratory study with the help of discipline-specific valuation methods, supported by participating students of architecture, engineering and sociology.
